In November of 2007, Ron brought a complete turkey dinner to Operation Hope Shelter in Fairfield, CT. to help feed the men and women who were staying there during Thanksgiving. Much to his surprise, when he dropped the food off, he saw what the men's shelter side looked like. He realized that he can do more than just help feed Operation Hope famlies, he could redesign the entire section with new bed linens, blankets, pillows, towels and even posters of heros for the walls. He not only provided bedding, but furniture, rugs, clothing and even a Christmas Tree.

Although Christmas was still a month away,  when Ron told his family that in lieu of gifts this year, their gift from him that year was his contribution to Operation Hope. They enthusiastically offered to help, and with their assistance, they had everything in place before the men returned for the day.
In one day, when the men left in the morning that day, they had no idea that when they returned at 4:00pm, the place would be transformed into a place of "calm and dignity".

You can read more about it here and here.
