Easter at Maplewood School

On Thursday March 24, 2005 at 8:45 am 50 Kindergarten students at Maplewood School in Bridgeport walked into their classrooms to find that the Easter Bunny had paid them a visit. Ron Marshall transformed the rooms to an Easter theme with a two foot high Easter basket filled with goodies for each child with his/her name on it. The room was decorated with balloons  and hula hoops, colored easter eggs and pastel colored tablecloths. He also provided a special book called "the Story of the Easter Bunny" by Katherine Tegen to be read to the children. At 9:45pm Ron had arranged for the Easter Bunny to visit the children to their delight.
Ron persnally funded the endeavor, claiming "the idea just came into [his] head because [he is] a decorator-a decorator with a purpose." Ron arbitrarily choose that school, not having any particular ties to it. He "wanted to do it because  [he] just felt the kids would enjoy it, and never forget the impact of walking in the classroom and seeing their name on a basket."
